When most of us think of flowers we tend to think of the lovely rose or lily which have been popularized by pop culture and media. Maybe even the daisy or the hydrangea come to mind. But 1 thing is certain, the majority of people think of the colors. It is hard to think of flowers and not think of the lovely colors they possess.

Flowers come in so many colors and variety that we are able to categorize them by bold colors and more muted colors. In the muted colors department we have pastels. These are colors that tend to not scream out so much in an environment but rather it is a gentle reminder that there is a lovely floral arrangement on your table to enhance the occasion.

When most people think of pastels, one the of the main events that come to mind is Easter. It is very common during Easter to paint a few eggs in pastel colors and grab some pastel flowers. However, Easter is not the only time that pastels are commonly used. Weddings are another event that pastels are great for. The reason is that usually people are looking for a more subtle decor and pastel flowers allow for the tables to be decorated without distracting from the overall environment. Guests love the subtleties of a pastel arrangement.

Depending on the time of year that the wedding is being held there could be different choices for what flowers are used. One of the flowers that are very popular among young couples these days in the summer is the peonies. These lovely flowers come mainly in white and pink. There is nothing quite like a lovely arrangement with a pastel pink peony. When in bloom it dazzles and shines like no other. Words cannot express how gorgeous these flowers can be. This is but only one example of course.

If you are sending flowers to someone who’s decor you are not certain of, pastels are the way to go. The reason for this is due to the subtle nature of the flowers allows them to blend better with their environment than a bright and bold arrangement. Whether the recipient is placing the flowers in the dining room or by the kitchen table or counter. It is a safe and sure bet that going with a more mild pastel tone will feel right at home.

As far as best times for sending pastel flowers, there is no set time. They can be sent throughout the entire year. Some flower varieties vary depending on the season but the colors are available year round. This means that you probably won't be able to send a soft pink tulip in autumn. Aside from seasonal limitations, just about any occasion is a good one to gift pastel flowers. You could send them to a friend who is recovering from the hospital visit. The flowers would make a great get-well gift. Or perhaps you could send them to your grandmother or mother as a lovely birthday gift. Pastel flowers could even be used in funeral arrangements to show your condolences and sympathy.

There is no real wrong time to use pastel flowers as they are a softer and more muted way of expressing one's emotions. For this reason, people throughout the ages have enjoyed the pastel colors. They are a beautiful way of expressing our emotions without worrying about being too bold.
